Mohammad
Tofighi is now pursuing his PhD in Department of Electrical Engineering
at Pennsylvania State University
starting from Fall 2015. You can access to his new webpage here.
He received his B.Sc. in
Electrical and Electronics Engineering
from Urmia
University, Urmia, Iran in
June 2012. In 2010 he
had a collaboration
with the Advanced Communication Research
Institute, Department of Electrical Engineering, Sharif University of
Technology, Tehran, Iran,
under supervision of Prof. F.
Marvasti, which it’s results were
published in 2011 18th
IEEE International Conference on Telecommunications (ICT),
8-11 May
2011, Ayia
Napa, Cyprus. His senior year project at Urmia University under
supervision of Prof. Mahrokh G. Shayesteh was based on image
processing, pattern recognition and machine learning issues related to
“Head Pose Estimation”, which its results were
presented in 2013 21st Iranian Conference on
Electrical
Engineering (ICEE).
In 2012, he got admitted to Bilkent
University for
M.Sc.
degree with full scholarship; A merit based scholarship to provide
funding and
to cover housing and tuition fee for selected M.Sc. students. He is
currently pursuing
his M.Sc. degree at the Department of Electrical and Electronics
Engineering, Bilkent University, in Bilkent Signal Processing
Group (BilSPG)
under the
supervision of Prof.
A. Enis Cetin. His
research results in BilSPG upto
now are published in seven peer-reviewed
conference papers, one journal paper in
IEEE Signal Processing
Magazine, and two journal papers under
review in IEEE Journal of
Selected Topics in Signal Processing and Signal, Image, and Video Processing. Moreover, he is working on
two other journal papers which will be
submitted soon.
He presented
one of his
conference papers in 2013 IEEE
Global Conference on Signal and Information Processing (GlobalSIP)
in Austin, Texas, and another one in 2014
European Signal
Processing Conference
(EUSIPCO) in Lisbon. Most
recently, he presented another
conference paper in 2014 IEEE
International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP)
in Paris,
which in that paper he presented a convex minimization algorithm for
signal and image denoising. He
got the best
student paper award
in 2014
22nd IEEE Signal Processing
and
Communications Applications Conference (SIU), Trabzon, Turkey.
More
information
is included in his CV,
and you can find his research
results in his Publications.
His
research interests
include signal and image processing, computer vision, pattern
recognition and
machine learning. He recently got admitted to ECE PhD program in Pennsylvania State
University for Fall 2015.
