INTRODUCTION TO MDE 8051 TRAINER

MDE8051 uses DS89C420/430 as its microcontroller. You can find detailed information about DS89C420/430 in the following links:

Some of the feature of the MDE 8051 :

  • Serially programmable (Using PC Hyperterminal, no need for external EPROM burner)
  • Dual serial ports
  • Integrated Digital I/O (8 Switches & 8 LEDs)
  • All ports accessible via terminal blocks
  • Onboard power supply

    • 8051 Pin- and Instruction-Set Compatible
    • Four Bidirectional I/O Ports
      • (Our MDE 8051 Trainer has them accessible via Terminal Block and male connector)
    • Three 16-Bit Timer Counters
    • 256 Bytes Scratchpad RAM
  • On-Chip Memory
    • 16kB Flash Memory
    • In-System Programmable through Serial Port
      • (No need for EPROM burner. Use PC COM port to download your program using MS Windows HyperTerminal)
    • 1kB SRAM for MOVX
  • ROMSIZE Feature
    • Selects Internal Program Memory Size from 0 to 16k
    • Allows Access to Entire External Memory Map
  • High-speed architecture
    • 1 clock-per-machine cycle
    • DC to 33MHz operation
      • (Our MDE 8051 Trainer has 11.0592 MHz Crystal)
  • Two full-duplex serial ports
      • (Our MDE 8051 Tainer has two DB connectors for them)
  • Programmable watchdog timer
  • 13 interrupt sources (six external)
