Written examination rules

The following rules apply to all written exams:

  • Exams are closed book and closed notes.
  • Bring a calculator to the exams.
  • You are allowed to write down course related information on A4 sized papers and bring them to the exams. You will be allowed one such paper for the first exam, two for the second, etc. Your name MUST be written on each paper.
  • Do NOT bring anything other than pencils, erasers, information sheets, and a calculator. Do NOT bring any paper to be used for drafts.
  • Exchanging calculators during the exam is not allowed.
  • You may ask questions to the instructor or assistants during the exam.
  • Do not ask for extra paper before using up all the space allocated for a given question. Any extra paper you receive will be stapled to your exam paper right away.
  • You may leave the exam when you are finished, except during the last five minutes of the exam.
  • When the exam duration is over, stop writing and wait for the assistant to collect your exam paper while remaining seated. Failure to follow these rules may result in disciplinary action and/or a zero grade for the exam.
